Tonto National Park & Beyond
Tonto National Park, AZ - Thursday, April 7, 2005
Day long drive through the Tonto National Park, east of Phoenix.
Stops included Superstition Mountain, Kovak's Korner, Goldfield Ghost Town, Canyon Lake, Tortia Flats, Apache Lake, Rosevolt Dam & Lower Cliff Dwellings @ Tonto National Monument (ruins in mountain). This was the first proper desert trip, and was amazing, as some of the photos illistrate clearly.
Leaving the Tonto National Park late afternoon, we travelled east towards Global, before swinging around and heading west bound through Apache Junction around the other side of Superstition Mountain, back towards Tempe. The memory card and internal memory of the camera were full by this stage.
